PORTRAIT SESSION FAQ’S

What is your style?

I love candid, lifestyle images that focus on connection and emotion. I usually begin a session with a few posed shots and then the rest of our time is spent laughing, and running around capturing you interacting with each other and your environment.

My style is authentic, light and true to colour with strong black and white images.

Where are the sessions?

This is up to you although I'm happy to suggest some wonderful places. We can meet at your favourite park, your home or a special place your family enjoys which ever you prefer.  I want you to be somewhere that everyone feels comfortable. Bring toys to play with if we go to a park or the beach. If we are at your home I’ll follow you all around while you do the things that make you all happy. Things you enjoy doing together as a family. This is supposed to be fun. Please don't worry about tidying up too much as we can always move things around during the session if we need to.

When do I pay ?

A non-refundable Booking fee of £25 is required, alongside a signed contract, to reserve your date. The Booking fee will be deducted from the total cost of the collection you choose. The remainder of the balance is to be paid in full, seven days prior to the session.

Any additional products are to be paid for at the time of ordering and are non-refundable as they are made to order.

What does my Booking fee cover?

The Booking fee pays for the reservation of your session time and date and services of the Photographer for the session. It is non-refundable or transferable in the event of cancellation, it being the agreed loss suffered by the Photographer due to cancellation.

What is a pre-portrait consultation?

Before your session, we will have a telephone consultation to confirm location, props, outfits, themes, styles and other creative ideas. I love to hear any specifics you desire and how we can make your creative ideas a reality.

How should I dress for the session?

It is your session and you may dress the way you like, but coordinating is key to a flowing session. Remember that everyone’s outfits do not need to be the same colour. In fact, it is preferable that you choose a colour family and dress everyone in tones within that family.

You may wish to bring a spare change of clothing in the event we have time to change.

Am I allowed to bring props to the session?

Yes, you may bring props you like or feel are meaningful to the session.

I am not sure my child will co-operate with a photographer.

Don't worry I have three of my own children and as a qualified teacher have worked with children of all ages. I will interact with your child and I let them be themselves. Alongside some of the directed shots we play, we chat and I capture your family and the bonds between you all. I know children will be children and we can take little breaks as needed.

What if the weather is bad?

If your session is booked for outside, and the weather is too bad to hold the session, we can reschedule your session for as soon as possible at no extra cost to you.

What if one of us gets sick or we have to reschedule for some reason?

Life happens and I understand that. I am happy to reschedule your session once as long as I receive a 24 hour notice. If you need to reschedule after this, you will forfeit your original Booking fee and a new Booking fee will be paid for the new session date.

How long will it take to get pictures back?

All collections include a watermarked online digital gallery from which to select the images included in your chosen package. I aim to have this gallery available to you within 2 weeks.

For digital downloads only the images will be available within 72 hours of your selection.

For print products including albums and wall art this can take up to 4 weeks from the date of ordering.

Once I get your products I will contact you for a good time to deliver your purchased products right to your door!
